What if there was a creature you summon that has a standard -3 health degen and stays that way. It wouldn't increase to -10 or whatever, but the skill has a 60 second recharge and you have to sacrifice 50% life.

How about this as an elite..

Summon Blood Reaper {E}
25e, 15% Sacrifice, 3 Second Cast Time
Recast: 60s (would be best to allow 1 only, cannot be echo'ed)
Summon an elite minion (looks like a reaper), that feeds health directly to it's master.

So in other words, every time it lands an attack, it steals health from the target foe, and transfers it to the necromancer, through the blood pact that was made to create it.

fact that it can't be echo'd is still no good
as they can steal a skill from an oponent... and guess what that stolen skill could be summon blood reaper again >_>
so imho a can not be echo'd is pointless

and only 1?
good thing about minion masters is the fact that they mass minions to take the heat off the party members and deal dmge from numbers
a one time summon would pretty much ruin that idea
maybe just require it to use more then 1 corpse instead of one
so you'ld have to choose between 2 horrors/fiends or 1 reaper etc


or add: reaper vanishes after x seconds (would be best imho)

Good posts...
You can't make bone fiends elite because you get it in the desert, and only one elite per prof in desert (for standard bosses)

You would run into problems using life siphon because it would gain so much regen, along with +10 regen from veratas sac...

You can't sacrifice 50% health with one skill - max is 33% and there are set values. I might be wrong but I believe they are:

- 10%
- 15%
- 17%
- 33%

I know I'm missing some, but there are set values, like energy costs are 5, 10, 15, and 25.

You can't make something unechoable, and such a long recast time is unweildy.

And does it feed health directly from its master or to? This comes to the idea of a matainance enchantment that you cast on an animated undead ally that feeds your health to them as they need it. This means they have a balence of 0 health regen, so if you cast veratas sac it gives YOU 10 health regen. However, they cant be healed because when you try to heal them they heal you. The catch is that when they take damage, you do too (ALWAYS a downside ). This would be pretty cool, so you could have an army of, say, 30 and just keep using veratas sac, blood of the master, etc to try to heal yourself from the -50's popping up on your screen. This would be difficult to use but still pretty cool.
